El Pueblo’s Cristiane Rosales-Fajardo Recognized by Amnesty International

El Pueblo’s Cristiane Rosales-Fajardo was interviewed for Amnesty International’s new report, “We Had Whistles, They Had Guns.” Amnesty International brought Cristiane to Washington, D.C., to recognize her work supporting immigrant families and to mark the report’s release.

The report documents human rights violations during U.S. immigration enforcement operations, including in New Orleans. It also highlights the work of community organizations like El Pueblo, whose members have stepped forward to protect their neighbors and support families facing fear and uncertainty.

We’re proud to see Cristiane’s work recognized and grateful that the experiences of our community are being heard. We encourage you to read the report and share it with others. These stories deserve our attention.
